The Guide Hachette of the wines of 2007 presents the Rascailles vintage in these terms:

« It is declined into rosy and red. Equipped with a flattering dress pink candy, this 2005 book of the flavours of delicacies, accompanied by a mineral note...

... Its marked structure does not hide of anything the fruity ripe one which contributes to an impression of roundness. A quotation also for Rascailles 2004 red, with the flavours of light spices, leather and tobacco. The red fruit flaveurs open out around tannins still a little austere finally ».

Our vintages of Rosy selected by the Guide Gilbert and Gaillard and Contest CEZANNE AIX 2006

Le terroir face à la Sainte Victoire

The wine region spreads over almost 400 hectares (about 1000 acres) facing the Sainte Victoire mountain, renowned through the works of Cézanne.

This region stretches from the foothills of Mount Olympia along the cliffs of Kirbon. The earth favors a good and natural tang in the wine.

The exposure to the northern slope protects the grapes from burning sun and allows them to ripen slowly. This results in an excellent combination of wine and the earth from where it is born.

The viticulture is enhanced by improving wines like Sirah, Grenache, Vermentino and Mourvèdre, assuring quality and uniqueness.

The winery was founded in 1914 and has preserved traditionnal pressing, although using modern winemaking technology.

The great care from vintage to conservation (air-conditionned cellars) produces the utmost quality.

With full confidence the wine-growers LEI BASSAQUET promise to make every effort to satisfy the desires of connoisseurs.
